The human mind is vast and there’s almost no end to its exploration. It has the capacity to generate almost anything. Once provided with any supply and an environment or a certain condition, it is bound to produce something.
Upon this knowledge rides many philosophers, influencers and doctrine peddlers. They feed the mind with the raw materials they believe would produce a desired outcome.
Interestingly, not only fellow humans utilise this capacity. Metaphysical forces are also aware of this and often take advantage of it albeit to a destructive end oftentimes.
Certainly, God the maker of the human mind knows this as well and He seeks to help mankind find the right way to utilise the mind. Who else would be in a better position to guide on its use after all? However, although He created it, He would not force His way through. He has given mankind the power of choice. Each human would have to authorise what the mind would receive.
But God has an offer; He wants you to permit Him to make your mind His workshop. He has some beautiful things to produce from there. God’s offer is no burden because He would provide all that is needed for the production. From the very desire to the strength needed, He supplies all. But you first must allow Him.
“For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him.”
Philippians 2:13 NLT
He would not only bring the raw materials, but also set up the right working conditions to effectively produce pleasant things from the workshop within.
With your mind being God’s workshop, living a righteous life, expressing the fruit of the spirit such as love, joy, peace,… (Galatians 5:22) or even doing exploits for God’s kingdom becomes easier. It would no longer be a labour to operate in the gift of the Spirit. Again, all that is required is yielding the vast expanse of your mind to Him so He can make a workshop of it.
What if I don’t want to yield my mind to Him? I don’t want anything produced from me. I don’t want to feel used. Well, no problem. First, I should let you know that you’re not being used. Second, you should also know that nature abhors a vacuum and your mind is wired to produce something anyways as long as you live. So if you wouldn’t be yielding to God so He can make beautiful things of your mind, you’ve automatically signed up and authorised other manufacturers to come in.
While explaining the modus operandi of these other manufacturers is beyond the scope of this article, I would sum up their activities by quoting the expression of someone who once permitted them, apart from God:
“I don’t really understand myself, for I want to do what is right, but I don’t do it. Instead, I do what I hate.”
